资源简介:
The principal managerial goals of Paragraph 3 archaeological reconnaissance are the identification and inventory of all potentially significant cultural resources in the area of proposed construction. The strategies utilized include: 1. background research detailing the history, prehistory, environment and archaeological sensitivity of the area; 2. walkover of the project area to locate sites and evaluate the topography of the area; 3. systematic subsurface testing of the project area; 4. inventory and description of the standing structures within the project area.
The principal managerial goal of a Paragraph 4 site examination is to gather information on boundaries, physical integrity, temporal affiliation, and research potential for all cultural resources identified in a Paragraph 3 survey. The primary technique employed to accomplish this is intensive subsurface testing of the area in which the cultural resources are located. Paragraph 4 examinations were performed on The Thomas Creek Site (SUBi-1546), which was found to date to the Middle to Late Middle Woodland Periods.
