This dataset includes material use intensity (MUI) (kg/m2) and embodied carbon intensity (kgCO2e/m2) data for materials that comprise single-family residential buildings in the United States. The single-family residential building model defined by the US Department of Energy was used as the basis for this analysis. MUIs are defined for the single-family building designed with four different foundation types in sixteen climate zones. Three ECIs are computed using three different life cycle inventory (LCI) databases that correspond to three different life cycle assessment (LCA) tools, namely Athena, One Click LCA, and Tally.
