Inspire Distribution of bird species in the EEZ – occurrences

The INSPIRE dataset distribution of bird species in the EEZ – occurrences provides occurrence data records in accordance with the requirements of the INSPIRE guideline Annex III topic. The database contains information on the population density of seabirds in the German offshore areas based on a 10x10 km grid (EU-GRID) (1-year period). The density [individuals/km²] is determined for each grid cell by adding the individual number of counting points within the respective grid cell and dividing it by the sum of the effort at the counting points. Individual layers show according to the species the population density of the individual seabirds in the respective grid cell. Data is based on the 2020 seabird recording carried out within the framework of the BfN monitoring programme. The record does not contain information on sensitive species.
