The dataset contains the Fourier Transform Infra-Red (FTIR) absorbance specta of the three different phytoplankton: Emiliania huxleyi, Skeletonema costatum, and Naviula sp. and sample mesocosm study conducted using natural water obtained from the Texas shelf. Both the experiments had two different conditions; control and the one where the phytoplankton were grown in chemically enhanced water accommodated fraction of oil (CEWAF). Macromolecules such as carbohydrates, lipids and proteins produce characteristics absorbance in FTIR spectra. Therefore information relating to change in macromolecular composition in response to control and CEWAF can be obtained using this spectra.
