The High-Value Patent Database for Wheat Seed Breeding Technology mainly includes invention patents and utility model patents related to wheat seed breeding technology manufacturing from global patent databases. Retrieval and evaluation scoring were conducted on the patent data using proprietary algorithms, which helps gain insights into the intellectual property (IP) application status and geographic layout of the wheat seed breeding industry. By comparing the patent data of wheat seed breeding technologies across different enterprises, one can assess the technological innovation capabilities of each enterprise. Understanding the development trends and core technologies of wheat seed breeding technologies helps enterprises avoid redundant R&D and intellectual property infringement.
This database is based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), combining quantitative and qualitative methods, starting from the patent value evaluation method. The indicator system of patent value is divided into three primary indicators: technical, legal, and economic value. The primary indicators are further broken down into secondary indicators:
Technical Value Indicators: number of independent claims, word count of the main independent claim, remaining patent term, number of patent family members, number of cited patents, number of citations by other patents, score of applicant type, number of participating inventors, number of involved technical fields;
Legal Value Indicators: patent type, number of document pages, number of invalidation request filings;
Economic Value Indicators: number of transfer transactions, number of license transactions, number of pledge financing transactions, score of patent awards, score of customs record filings.
A three-dimensional matrix is established based on the primary and secondary indicators. Corresponding data indicators for patent evaluation are obtained through patent interface data based on patent titles and patent numbers. The 1-9 scaling method (minimum 1 point, maximum 9 points) is used to calculate the corresponding indicator weights. The score of each indicator is calculated via weighted summation, and the sum of all indicator scores is the final patent score. Patents are categorized according to their score ranges: 80-100 is classified as High-Value Patents, 60-80 as Important Patents, and below 60 as General Patents. This database provides technical references and guidance for R&D personnel of wheat seed breeding technology enterprises, and offers R&D decision-making support for companies. All data results mentioned in the aforementioned algorithms are reflected in the data structure.
