Pareuchiloglanis macrotrema is belonging to the Siluriformes family, distributed in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau tributaries. it is an ideal model for studying the adaptive evolution of fish at high altitudes. In addition to the main liver, the P. macrotrema also has an organ connected to it attaching liver. Attaching liver is a common feature in most Sisoridae, and the appearance of attaching liver is a special event of fish evolution. In the study, we performed comparative transcriptome analysis on the main liver and attaching liver of P. macrotrema, and provides insights into evolution of tibetan fishes.
