Spanish Digital News Clickbait Dataset (2.000 Headlines)

This dataset contains a collection of 2.000 digital news headlines from Spain, collected from El País, ABC, Ok Diario, and elDiario.es. It has been developed for the analysis of clickbait in Spanish. The dataset is designed to support research on attention-grabbing strategies, as well as the development of media literacy workshops aimed at mitigating clickbait practices.

Each unit of analysis corresponds to an individual headline from digital news media. The dataset includes annotations that allow the identification and classification of clickbait features.The annotated variables are organised into four categories: identification, clickbait headline construction, content expansion, and linguistic formulation. These categories enable both qualitative and quantitative analysis. 

This dataset contributes to the understanding of clickbait mechanisms and their impact on news consumption in the contemporary media ecosystem.
