For unified intelligent management of vehicle parking spaces: when a vehicle enters or exits a parking space, the magnetic parking space detector accurately captures changes in the parking space status and immediately determines whether the space is occupied. The data is then transmitted in real time to the cloud processing platform via the Narrow Band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) network. Upon receiving the data, the cloud platform parses it, retrieves the mapping relationship between devices and parking spaces, matches and identifies the specific parking space number and the details of the road section it belongs to, and updates the parking space status and occupancy conditions based on the uploaded data. This enables urban planning authorities and traffic management departments to grasp the distribution of parking durations and occupancy statuses across different road sections and parking spaces, supporting the optimization of parking space layout. It also provides real-time information about available parking spaces in congested road sections for vehicle owners, thereby improving parking efficiency.
For each vehicle entry or exit event at a parking space, the magnetic parking space detector again accurately captures the status change and immediately judges the occupancy status, before transmitting the data to the cloud processing platform in real time via the NB-IoT network. Upon data reception, the cloud platform parses the data, queries the device-parking space mapping relationship, matches and identifies the specific parking space number and its affiliated road section details, and updates the parking space status per the uploaded data: the space is marked as occupied when a vehicle enters, and as vacant when a vehicle exits. On every hour, the backend system takes a snapshot of the vacant parking space status for each road section, and calculates the hourly parking space occupancy rate for the road section using the formula: [(Total parking spaces - Vacant parking spaces) / Total parking spaces]. Finally, data including province, city, road section, total parking spaces, vacant parking spaces, snapshot timestamp, hourly parking space occupancy rate and date is persistently stored on a monthly basis.
