Winds, clouds, water, paths and phases of the moon in Mehri

This dataset contains video and audio recordings produced in Dhofar between 2023 and 2025. The recordings relate to Mehri descriptions of winds, clouds, bodies of water, phases of the moon and paths. They are accompanied by ELAN files with transcriptions, translations and annotations for communicative gesture. The transcriptions, translations and annotations were produced by Janet Watson in collaboration with Sulaiman al-Mahri. To access the ELAN files, you need to download the freely accessible ELAN for Linguistics software.
