CREA-GB field data 2025-26, different sowing density

Agronomic data for barley genotypes (old and modern cultivars and mutants) tested under different sowing density at the experimental station of CREA-GB in Fiorenzuola d'Arda, in the 2025-26 growing season. The BW303_ert-a.6 and BW314_ert-k.32 mutants, along with their wild-type progenitor Bowman, the pale green mutant hus1 (BC2F5 seed bulk from the M24 harvest) and the cultivars RGT Planet and Laureate were evaluated for their response to different sowing densities. For each genotype, 1800 seeds were sown in 6 m2 plots consisting of 8 rows spaced 16.5 cm apart (plot size: 1.5 m x 4 m), resulting in a sowing density of 300 seeds /m2 (Control conditions, two replications per genotype). The same 1800 seeds were also sown in 4.28 m2 plots with a lower spacing of 11 cm between the 8 rows (plot size: 1.07 m x 4 m), resulting in a sowing density of 420 seeds/m2 (HighDen conditions, two replications per genotype).
