资源简介:
We provide data for the manuscript: Zenes, N., L. D. L. Anderegg, K. Ogle, D. M. P. Peltier, and W. R. L. Anderegg. 2025. "Complex trajectories of tree growth in the southwestern United States after severe drought." Ecosphere. In review. We focused on 33 U.S. Forest Service Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) plots in the southwestern US (Arizona, Colorado, and Utah) located in Pinus edulis (hereafter pinyon pine) - Juniperus osteosperma (juniper) woodlands, Pinus ponderosa (ponderosa pine) forests, Picea engelmannii (spruce) forests, and Populus tremuloides (aspen) forests. All cores were collected in 2014 at each of our four forest type sites. We provide here published tree-ring width records from Truettner et al. (2018) for four conifer species, as well as previously unpublished tree ring width data for aspen, which were collected and processed concurrently with the conifer data. All data are raw ring widths.Truettner, C., W. R. L. Anderegg, F. Biondi, G. W. Koch, K. Ogle, C. Schwalm, M. E. Litvak, J. D. Shaw, and E. Ziaco. 2018. "Conifer Radial Growth Response to Recent Seasonal Warming and Drought from the Southwestern USA." Forest Ecology and Management 418: 55–62.This is a 5 column dataset with the UniqueID for each tree core, the file the raw data is coming from, the tree core ID, the year of growth, and the raw ring width (mm). The file name is made up of state, forest type, plot ID, and species. Key as follows:States: AZ = Arizona, CO = Colorado, NM = New Mexico, UT = UtahForest type: PJ = Pinus edulis (pinyon pine) - Juniperus osteosperma (juniper) woodlands, TA = Populus tremuloides (aspen) forests, PO = Pinus ponderosa (ponderosa pine) forests, SF = Picea engelmannii (spruce) forestsSpecies: JUOS = Juniperus osteosperma (juniper), PIED = Pinus edulis (pinyon pine), PIEN = Picea engelmannii (spruce), POTR = Populus tremuloides (aspen)E.g., AZ_PJ_435_PIED_ALLCORES is a file that contains pinyon tree ring cores that were collected in a pinyon-juniper woodland located in Arizona with the plot ID of 435.Separate raw files have not been uploaded as all that information have been combined into this one master dataset that was used in data analyses.
