Biophysical measurements (temperature, salinity, pressure, chlorophyll fluorescence), and ocean currents (U, V, speed, direction) collected from NOAA moorings at M8, a long-term NOAA observatory site in the Northern Bering Sea, Alaska, by the EcoFOCI group at NOAA, PMEL, 2011-08-16 to 2014-10-15 (NCEI Accession 0302979)

资源简介:
These time-series data sets are from biophysical and ADCP moorings at the NOAA/PMEL northern Bering Sea Site-8 (M8). Two moorings were deployed in August of each year, 2011, 2012 and 2013, at the "M8" site. Contract F/V (Fishing Vessel) Mystery Bay was used for deployments in 2011 (1MB11 or MB11-01), and F/V Aquila was used for deployments in 2012 and 2013 (cruises AQ1201 and AQ13-01). Moorings and instruments were left over the winter and recovered the following Fall. Biophysical subsurface mooring data filenames, e.g. 12bs-8a, are indicated by "bs"; "bsp" indicates a separate ADCP/WCP current-meter mooring. Instrumentation included Teledyne RDI Workhorse Sentinel ADCP (WCP), SeaBird SBE-37 (Microcat), SBE-39, SBE 16 plus (Seacat) profilers and WetLabs EcoFluorometers. Data include current components U and V, speed and direction, temperature, conductivity, salinity, pressure, water depth, raw chlorophyll fluorescence and chlorophyll a. The cruises were funded by NOAA, Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory EcoFOCI program and NOAA Arctic Research Program with additional support from AOOS, the NOAA-regional ocean data partnership. Deployment and recovery operations on this cruise were managed by EcoFOCI personnel from NOAA/PMEL and University of Washington CICOES. Mooring time-series data were processed at NOAA/PMEL/EcoFOCI using standard techniques. Time is recorded as UTC. Data contacts: Phyllis Stabeno, Shaun Bell, Ryan McCabe, Peggy Sullivan. Data are in NetCDF. Buoy longitude is in [degW].
