Replication package for "Does Urbanization Cause Growth? Association, Prediction, and Regional Divergence in a 165-Country Panel, 1950-2022"

Data and code that reproduce every number, table, and figure in the article "Does Urbanization Cause Growth? Association, Prediction, and Regional Divergence in a 165-Country Panel, 1950-2022" and in its Supporting Information. The package contains the raw public series (United Nations World Urbanization Prospects 2025 and Maddison Project Database 2023, both distributed by Our World in Data, plus time-varying controls from Our World in Data and Natural Earth boundaries), the merged country-year panel of 165 countries (11,530 observations, 1950-2022), the Python scripts, and their outputs. Run "python run_pipeline.py" (Python 3.13; packages in requirements.txt); see README.txt for the map from each script to each table and figure. The authors are withheld during double-blind peer review and will be added after the review process.
