资源简介:
This dataset contains hand-drawn annotations on OpenStreetMap (OSM)-based basemaps for the study of automatic extraction of user-generated markings from sketch maps.
The dataset comprises approximately 2,300 annotated map images created during controlled data-curation rounds. Each sample represents a printed basemap that was manually annotated and subsequently scanned or photographed, resulting in realistic variations in image quality, illumination, and geometric distortions.
Annotations are provided as bounding boxes marking individual hand-drawn elements, including symbols, line segments, and text-like markings. The annotations were created using CVAT and follow a consistent labeling scheme across multiple annotators.
The dataset is designed to support research in object detection, change detection, and the digitisation of participatory sketch maps. It captures variability in drawing styles, stroke thicknesses, colours, and annotation placement, including partially overlapping and off-basemap markings.
Only OSM-based data and corresponding annotations are included in this release. Data derived from Esri World Imagery (EWI) is excluded due to licensing restrictions. Synthetic data used in the associated study is not included, as it is partially derived from non-redistributable sources.
