ASIS Input data

The satellite data used in ASIS calculations is derived from the METOP-AVHRR sensor at 1 km resolution, starting from 2007. Additionally, data at 1 km resolution for the period 1984-2006 is sourced from the NOAA-AVHRR dataset at 16 km resolution. These datasets are crucial for the computation of mean Vegetation Health Index (VHI) and Agricultural Stress Index (ASI). The crop/grass mask utilized in ASIS is based on FAO GLC-SHARE, where pixels with at least 5% coverage by the class are defined as cropland/grassland.
