Orphan Well

This dataset lists the wells (WAs) located on Orphan Sites, where permanent plugging (abandonment/decommissioning) is managed by the Orphan Fund. The current status of each well is provided. ABAN - the well's reservoirs have been permanently plugged and the wellhead has been cut below surface (referred to as abandoned or decommissioned) ABNZ - the well's reservoirs have been permanently plugged and the wellhead has not yet been cut below surface (referred to as zonally abandoned or decommissioned) INAC - production was suspended at the well; the well is inactive and awaiting decommissioning CANC - the well permit was cancelled and was not drilled WAG – the well permit was granted but was not drilled Contact Information: For further information please contact BC Energy Regulator [e-mail]
