Ophioroid barcodings. Ophiuroidea

Accumulate barcoding DNA data for brittle stars (Animalia: Echinodermata: Ophiuroidea) based on individuals identified by taxonomists. Sequence information will focus on mitochondrial DNA and will be accompanied by specimen information. This specimen information will include museum or other registration numbers, latitude and longitude, bathymetry, collection date, etc., whenever possible. We aim to accumulate data from Japan and other Asian countries and use them as reference sequences for environmental DNA metabarcoding and other applications.
