Students' Perceptions of the Quality, Fairness, and Outcomes of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE): A Cross-Sectional Study at Citycot University, Bosaso, Somalia

Background:The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is widely used to assess clinical competence among health science students. Understanding students’ perceptions of the quality, fairness, and outcomes of the OSCE is important for improving assessment practices and strengthening competency-based education. Dataset Description:This repository contains the dataset, questionnaire, codebook, and supporting statistical outputs for the study entitled: "Students’ Perceptions of the Quality, Fairness, and Outcomes of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE): A Cross-Sectional Study at Citycot University, Bosaso, Somalia." The study was conducted among 400 undergraduate health science students enrolled in Nursing, Midwifery, Laboratory Science, Pharmacy, Nutrition, and Clinical Officer programs at Citycot University, Bosaso, Somalia. Data were collected using a structured self-administered questionnaire assessing multiple OSCE domains, including station quality, process and preparation, physical environment, perceived discrepancies, fairness and validity, examination stress, and overall OSCE outcomes. Ethical Approval:Ethical approval was obtained from the Institutional Review Board (IRC) of Citycot University under reference number CU-CIARI-IRC-2026-026.
