A: GLU-rats were treated with 50% glucose via carotid artery infusion for 24 h (2 mg/kg/h). Control rats were treated with an equivalent volume of 0.9% sodium chloride for 24 h. Blood glucose and insulin levels were measured before the rats were killed. B: mRNA levels of LC3, Atg5, Atg7, Atg12, BECN1 were detected by RT-PCR in gastrocnemius.
