资源简介:
The goal of this study was to improve interior coatings’ qualities by incorporating different kinds of additives into water-based organic coating. Fumed silica was added to the composite coating to improve its resilience to abrasion and avoid paint sagging. A natural coating substance called shellac was used to strengthen the adherence. Sweet almond oil was added to enhance the film’s surface homogeneity and structural stability to facilitate the formation of the moisture barrier within the organic coating and zinc borate was included because of its ability to withstand flames. The R2 value was determined as 0.9680 with Design Expert/Box–Behnken method. The optimum formulation was found consisting of 2% fumed silica, 1% zinc borate, 1% sweet almond oil, and 2% shellac. After physical, chemical, morphological tests, TG-DTA, DSC, contact angle, and characterization analyses were conducted, the outcomes of the reference and optimum coating were compared. According to analysis, the optimum coating improved adhesion and corrosion resistance while also being smoother and more uniform. TG-DTA showed that the optimum coating’s thermal stability was improved. The decrease in contact angle from 65.10° to 58.73° showed the hydrophilic property of organic coating. It was seen that all additives enhanced the water-based coating’s performance.
