68 samples were taken from the 7 sediment core sections in Baoding Plain at a resolution of approximately every 10 m below the soil and miscellaneous fill in the top layer, with additional samples taken wherever lithological changes occurred in the 10-m section. The bulk elemental sample composition was analyzed by X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF, Bruker S8 Tiger) with 5 g ground sediment.
