Health Monitoring of circular reinforced concrete columns under seismic excitation (2)

Objective: to further explore the multi-functionality of smart aggregate especially the structural health monitoring of circular RC column in the shake table test. The smart aggregate will be used to perform dynamic seismic response detection, structural health monitoring and white noise response detection.
Experimental setup: reinforced concrete (RC) bridge column, shake table, dSpace data acquisition system
Method: Smart aggregate-based health monitoring approach
Conclusion: The effectiveness of the proposed smart aggregate-based approach is further verified in the shake table test. The developed smart aggregate were able to detect the dynamic seismic response, white noise response and monitor the damage development.
