This dataset contains 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequences (V4-V5 hypervariable region, Illumina MiSeq 300 bp paired-end) characterizing the bacterial communities naturally associated with two marine microalgae isolated from the Or Lagoon (Mediterranean coast, South of France), a coastal site chronically impacted by herbicides and trace metals. The two strains, a chlorophyte (Chlamydomonas sp. Or2023a) and a diatom (Entomoneis sp. Or2023b), were isolated from field water samples collected in April 2023 and maintained in xenic conditions in artificial seawater medium (Aquil + F/2) under controlled laboratory conditions. This study aimed to assess whether naturally associated bacterial communities contribute to microalgal tolerance to chemical stress (diuron and copper) in field-isolated strains from a chronically contaminated coastal environment.
