ENHANCING ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHING IN TECHNICAL UNIVERSITIES OF UZBEKISTAN: THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS, ESP–CLIL INTEGRATION, AND THE ROLE OF CORPUS TECHNOLOGIES

The growing role of English as a global language of science, technology, and professional communication has intensified the need to improve English language teaching in technical higher education institutions. In Uzbekistan, ongoing educational reforms emphasize the modernization of foreign language instruction to meet international standards and labor market demands. This article analyzes the theoretical conditions of teaching English in technical universities, focusing on communicative, competence-based, ESP, and CLIL-oriented approaches. Particular attention is given to corpus technologies as a theoretical and practical enhancement of the teaching process. The study argues that corpus-based instruction supports authentic language use, professional relevance, and learner autonomy, thereby contributing to the effectiveness of English language education in technical universities of Uzbekistan.
