Digital terrain model grid width 5 m Rhineland-Palatinate (DGM5)

Digital terrain models (DGM) describe the spatial shapes of the earth's surface (railing relief) in 3D coordinates. Unlike the Digital Surface Model, a DGM does not represent objects on the Earth’s surface (e.g. trees and houses). Bridges are not part of a DGM. Due to different water levels at the time of recording, height jumps can occur in waters. The DGM is derived from the ground points of the laser scan flights. The grid width is part of the product designation.
