We investigated the microbial communities of seven habitats in three glacial ecosystems (i.e. snow, cryoconite and stream in supraglacial ecosystem; meltwater and sediment in subglacial ecosystem; lake water and sediment in proglacial ecosystem), and analyzed the contribution of supra- and sub-glacial ecosystems to pro-glacial ecosystem in the Tibetan Plateau by using 16S rRNA gene sequencing.
