Ongoing shuffling of protein fragments diversifies core viral functions linked to interactions with bacterial hosts

Two code pipelines were used to generate the results:\ phage-protein-modularity-data and phage-protein-modularity-figures. The first pipeline processes NCBI RefSeq data and carries out HMM profile construction, all-by-all HMM comparison and HMM-HMM comparison to PHROGs and ECOD databases. The second pipeline takes the output of the first pipeline as input and generates all outputs and figures presented in the publication.
