This database compiles spatial data on the channel migrations of the Lower Yellow River since 1855. It contains ancient river channel migration data across 11 time periods, vector data of the Lower Yellow River's channel migrations from 1855 to 2005, as well as point features of major towns and townships in the lower reaches. The 11 time periods are: 1855–1889, 1889–1897, 1987–1904, 1904–1926, 1926–1929, 1929–1934, 1934–1953, 1953–1964, 1964–1976, 1976–1996, 1996–2005. This database is of extremely great significance for research on Yellow River channel migrations, the historical development of the Yellow River, and the history of the Yellow River Basin.
