The resistance of Rhipicephalus microplus to different acaricides has become widespread across the world and there is a need for the identification of accurate molecular markers to monitor the resistance in these ticks against multiple acaricides. The aim of this study was to completely sequence the genomic regions encoding proteins that have historically been implicated in acaricide target site insensitivity and increased acaricide detoxification. This was achieved by amplifying and sequencing the coding regions of 11 historical acaricide resistant targets in 37 isolates from different locations using a multiplex PCR setup designed during this study.
