Dataset and R Script: Decoupling Economic Growth from CO2 Emissions in Honduras, 1990-2023

This deposit contains the dataset and R script used in the study 'Decoupling Economic Growth from CO2 Emissions in Honduras: A Longitudinal Machine-Learning and Econometric Assessment of Low-Carbon Development, 1990–2023' (manuscript ID sustainability-4433211, Sustainability, MDPI). The dataset is an annual panel for Honduras (1990-2023, 34 observations) with GDP per capita, CO2 emissions per capita, energy intensity, and renewable electricity share (World Bank WDI; Our World in Data / Global Carbon Project). The R script reproduces all analyses in the manuscript and Supplementary Material, including k-means clustering, PELT structural break detection, the Environmental Kuznets Curve model, Granger causality tests, Random Forest variable importance, and the Tapio decoupling index, together with the robustness checks added during peer review.
