David 8 is a character in the 2012 Alien prequel, Prometheus. David 8, also known as David, is an android serving as an assistant and surrogate son to his creator, Peter Weyland. David is intelligent, resourceful and compassionate. He joins the crew aboard the research vessel Prometheus.
