Does evolving with or without sexual selection at different temperatures impact the make up of the gut microbiome in Drosophila simulans.

Drosophila simulans were evolved under sexual selection or no sexual selection at either 25 or 27 degrees celsius for 38 generations. The sexual treatment allowed each female in the population the choice of 4 males where as in the no sexual selection treatment each female had only one male to mate with. Ten guts were were disected out and pool for each of the 4 replicates of each treatment. The DNA was then extracted for 16s sequencing using the V3-V4 region.
