Flower bud differentiation is regulated by complex physiological and molecular networks. Paclobutrazol (PBZ), a triazole-type growth regulator, has been reported to promote early flowering in Camellia species. However, the mechanisms underlying PBZ-induced flower bud differentiation remain insufficiently understood. In this study, we investigated the transcriptomic and metabolomic changes associated with PBZ-induced early flowering in C. japonica 'High Fragrance.
