This dataset contains simplified WetBulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) at hourly frequency during the period of 1979-2021. Variables used to calculate the WBGT are temperature, humidity and surface pressure from the ERA5 reanalysis dataset based on an approach described in "Dawei Li*, Jiacan Yuan*, and Robert E. Kopp (2020):Escalating global exposure to compound heat-humidity extremes with warming. Environmental Research Letters. DOI:10.1088/1748-9326/ab7d04".
