Transcriptomic Analysis of Intramuscular Fat Deposition in Wagyu-Angus Crossbred Cattle

This project aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms underlying intramuscular fat (IMF) deposition in Wagyu-Angus crossbred cattle, a popular breed in China known for its superior marbling. IMF content is a critical determinant of beef quality, influencing juiciness, tenderness, and palatability. To identify key genes and regulatory pathways involved in IMF deposition, we performed RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) on longissimus dorsi muscle and liver tissues from Wagyu-Angus crossbred cattle with varying levels of IMF content.
