Reclamation of fluid fine tailings produced by mined oil sands extraction activities is a challenge. End-pit lakes (EPLs) are a prospective reclamation strategy where residual petroleum hydrocarbons could biodegrade. WE are studying microbial community that a key player in biodegradation.
