Dataset for: Instabilities and multiscale interactions underlying the loop current eddy shedding in the Gulf of Mexico

Gulf of Mexico (GOM) application of the MIT general circulation model (MITgcm) output was generated by the Ocean State Estimation at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and the GOM forward model solution for 2009-2016 was downloaded from the ECCO data server (http://www.ecco.ucsd.edu/gom.html). This dataset contains the data used to create the figures for the publication, as well as the binary and Matlab data formatted forward model output.
