VPRS 1206 Official Letters Outward (Public)

This series consists of bound copies of correspondence sent to individuals or organisations not associated with the public service by either the Treasurer or Under Treasurer. Correspondence recorded in this series relates to all aspects of Treasury activity.These volumes contain correspondence created by the letter press method and pasted into bound volumes in chronological order by date of letter. Each letter was also registered through the allocation of an annual single number.Volumes are numbered with a sequential volume number ranging from Vol. 1 to Vol. 7. The date range and range of registration numbers covered by the volume, is also usually marked on the spine.Registration numbers were allocated from VPRS 1213 Registers of Outward Correspondence for the period 1871 to Feb. 1872. However, as there are no registers in VPRS 1213 extant before 1871 it is not known if/where correspondence for the period 1869 to 1870 was registered.
