Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are clinically disparate primary liver cancers with etiological and biological heterogeneity. We performed sequencing on multiple data levels of Thai CCA and HCC among the Thailand Initiative in Genomics and Expression Research for Liver Cancer (TIGER-LC) cohort using targeted OncoVar platform, whole exome, whole transcriptome, and whole genome metagenomic sequencing.]]>
Inclusion:Incident cases residing in Thailand of pathologically confirmed primary liver cancer were recruited with diagnosis of CCA or HCC within one year of recruitment between the ages of 20 and 80yrs. Exclusion:Patients below 20yrs or above 80yrs were excluded.]]>
We established the Thailand Initiative in Genomics and Expression Research for Liver Cancer (TIGER-LC) consortium in 2008. The goal is to create a comprehensive biorepository with biospecimens linked to etiologies and clinical features. These biospecimens will be collected from 6,000 patients with liver cancer, as well as high-risk and healthy individuals residing in Thailand. The overarching aim is to identify genomic and etiological factors that modify liver cancer risk, susceptibility, and progression.]]>
