This study investigated fungal community dynamics in a miniaturized Bioregenerative Life Support System, named as miniBLSS, designed as a lunar payload prototype, integrating plant cultivation, mealworm breeding, and waste fermentation units. Through ITS rRNA gene amplicon sequencing and mycotoxin gene profiling, the research revealed distinct spatial and temporal patterns in fungal communities across different functional zones.
