Admission registers record details of the children admitted to Bonville Public School. The registers are arranged chronologically.Admission registers recorded basic details about children admitted to the school as well as information about their parents or guardians. The registers also record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. The early volumes of this series have separate pages for girls and boys; in registers that date from the late1960's the genders are not separately entered.The information listed for each child registered is as follows: register number; date of admission; pupil's name; sex (male or female); date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving (often 'first school' or 'new' is written for kindergarten admission); name and address of parent or guardian (parent/guardian occupation can also be recorded); date of admission to each grade; date of leaving the school; the name of the school, college or university to which the child transferred; and the occupation entered.Admission registers in paper format ceased in 1999 when the department moved to recording enrolment details in electronic format.
