This raw sequencing data provided the foundation for the analysis: \"Differential gene expression analysis in the aquatic invertebrate, Daphnia dentifera in response to fungal pathogen exposure\" by Terrill et al. In this study, authors infected Daphnia dentifera with a commonly occurring fungal pathogen, Metschnikowia bicuspidata, and performed RNA extraction at three different time points (2 hours post-exposure, 12 hours post-exposure, and 24 hours post-exposure). The data presented here include the raw sequencing reads as well as metadata for each sample. After a differential gene expression analysis, the study found that genes related to cuticle development were upregulated in those samples that were exposed to the pathogen when compared to unexposed individuals. , RNA-sequencing data for individuals of Daphnia dentifera, exposed and unexposed to the fungal pathogen Metschnikowia bicuspidata, for differential gene expression analysis.
