Paper Mill-Related Articles Reported in China's National Health Commission Notices: Publication and Retraction Status (2026)
收藏资源简介:
This dataset documents the publication and retraction status of papers associated with paper mills and reported in official notices issued by China's National Health Commission (NHC) in 2026. Since April 2026, the NHC has released five batches of public notices concerning the handling of cases involving paper mill-related articles. These notices provide information about the papers and their authors, as well as the disciplinary actions taken. This dataset was compiled by matching the reported paper titles against publication records to examine whether the articles had been published and whether they had been retracted. The dataset contains 82 records from five batches of official notices published between April 9 and July 30, 2026. It includes the paper title, notification date, publication and retraction status, publication year, retraction year where applicable, DOI, and link to the original notice where available. Of the 82 records, 76 were matched to published articles. Among these, 65 had not been retracted and 11 had been retracted as of October 29, 2026. Five records were marked as not published. One additional record had the same title as an article published by different authors and was therefore not treated as a confirmed match. This dataset provides a preliminary overview of the publication and retraction status of articles identified in official Chinese notices. It may support further research into paper mills, publication ethics, research integrity, and publishers' responses to publicly disclosed cases of research misconduct. Data limitations: Publication and retraction statuses were recorded as of October 29, 2026, and may change over time. The matching process was based primarily on paper titles and available publication information. A matching title alone does not establish that two records refer to the same article. The dataset does not independently verify the underlying findings of misconduct or establish whether publishers received or acted upon the official notices.
