Data and code submission for: Reconstructing a 1980s DEM of the Greenland ice sheet for model initialization

The two main outputs of this study are reconstructed surface DEMs of the Greenland ice sheet from 1980, at 600 m grid resolution: rec_GP_g600.nc: reconstruction using the Gaussian Process Regression (GP); contains ice surface elevation and uncertainties estimated through the standard deviation of the GP output rec_SVD_g600_lambda_1e7_r1000.nc: reconstruction using the SVD method; only contains ice surface elevation The GrIS1980s_DEM folder contains the code from this Github Repository as well as some intermediate results. See the repository readme for more information on how to run the code. The set of PISM-generated DEMs can be found as netcdf files in GrIS1980s_DEM/data/model_realizations/. Disclaimer: Running the whole analysis from scratch may be challenging as some of the underlying datasets may not be available anymore, or the download url may have changed. Furthermore, this project has many dependencies and is memory-intensive to execute (64 GB not sufficient).
