This project employed a Nanopore-based sequencing approach to identify the plant species utilized by Culex quinquefasciatus in Florida. Understanding the plant sources of sugar meals is a key aspect of elucidating the feeding ecology of Culex quinquefasciatus and could inform innovative, locally targeted mosquito control strategies, including more precise insecticide applications.
