Natator depressus (Australian flatback sea turtle) for VGP reference genome, rNatDep1

The Australian flatback sea turtle (Natator depressus) is a species of sea turtle in the family Cheloniidae. The species is endemic to the sandy beaches and shallow coastal waters of the Australian continental shelf (from Wikipedia entry). This sample found at Cable Beach in Western Australia was procured by Scott Whiting of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, Western Australia and Oliver Berry of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and coordinated by Camila Mazzoni and Lisa Komoroske to generate a high-quality reference genome for the Vertebrate Genomes Project (VGP). Sequencing was conducted at the Vertebrate Genome Lab (VGL) at the Rockefeller University, led by Erich D. Jarvis, Giulio Formenti, and Jennifer Balacco.
