CH4是温室气体中最为重要的成分。大气CH4柱浓度(XCH4)指从地表到大气顶层干燥空气柱中CCH4的平均体积比,用来表征大气中CH4分子含量的物理量。由于卫星观测反演的大气CH4柱浓度数据存在大量无观测值的空白区域、时空不规则分布以及多颗卫星数据的不一致等问题,不能直接刻画全球和区域XCH4时空变化特征和规律。项目利用2003年~2022年多源碳卫星(SCIAMACHY、GOSAT、S5P-TROPOMI)观测反演的CH4浓度数据,研发建立了多源卫星观测数据的时空融合方法,对卫星观测原数据进行时空地统计建模,处理生成全球陆地长时间序列XCH4时空连续数据集(Mapping-XCH4)。
Methane (CH₄) is one of the most critical components of greenhouse gases. Atmospheric CH₄ column concentration (XCH₄) is defined as the average volume mixing ratio of CH₄ in a dry air column extending from the Earth's surface to the top of the atmosphere, serving as a physical quantity to characterize the abundance of CH₄ molecules in the atmosphere. However, the atmospheric CH₄ column concentration data retrieved from satellite observations suffers from multiple issues, including extensive blank regions without valid observations, irregular spatiotemporal distribution, and inconsistencies among data from different satellites, which hinders the direct characterization of spatiotemporal variation characteristics and regularities of global and regional XCH₄. Leveraging CH₄ concentration data retrieved by multi-source carbon satellites (SCIAMACHY, GOSAT, S5P-TROPOMI) between 2003 and 2022, this project developed a spatiotemporal fusion method for multi-source satellite observation data, carried out spatiotemporal geostatistical modeling on the original satellite observation data, and produced a global long-time-series spatially and temporally continuous XCH₄ dataset over land, designated as Mapping-XCH₄.
