资源简介:
This thesis investigates using carbon dioxide (CO2) as a feedstock for producing acetic acid, a bulk chemical that is currently produced using fossil fuels resources. Researchers have explored metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as catalysts for chemical reactions due to their desirable properties including high surface area and dispersion of active metal sites. Here, we have synthesised catalysts derived from MOFs which contain active cobalt and nickel metals. These catalysts have successfully been used to directly convert CO2 into acetic acid and open up a greener synthetic pathway for the production of this important chemical used in several industries.
