资源简介:
This little flask is made of bronze and has the shape of a wine bag (askos). The Romans used bags made of pigs', goats', or cows' skins to transport wine. The animal form is still recognisable by the legs and tail. To prevent spilling the wine, you sit the askos on its behind and tie up the opening at the neck. This bronze vessel, which can also 'sit', was used as a travel flask and was closed with a cork. Bronze, Asia Minor (?), ca. 2nd century AD. Inventory number: 14.005.
