*The sample was restricted to participants without known diabetes and to participants who were fasting for ≥8 hours. Data of 2,557 participants with normal glucose tolerance were included but not shown (SHIP: n = 991; KORA: n = 1,618). Results are crude prevalences(%) and 95% confidence intervals if not otherwise specified. Significant regional differences (p<0.05) are highlighted in bold.
